Introduction to ETAP Software

ETAP stands for Electrical Transient and Analysis Program. It is very useful software for Power System Design and Analysis. In this article, we will learn about the standard setting in ETAP software. After opening a new project, go into project setting and then go into standards section as shown in Fig.1.

Now select the "IEC" standard, "50" Hz freqeuncy, "Metric" unit system, and "dd-mm-yyyy (Europe)" date format as shown in Fig.2.

This is the basic setting required before working on a ETAP software.
