Information about SLIET Entrance Test for PhD Admission

Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET), Longowal, Punjab, India is an autonomous body, fully funded by Govt. Of India under Ministry of Education registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860. SLIET Longowal ranked 161, 137, 133, and 56 in 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2016 in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of Ministry of Education. SLIET Longowal invites online application for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) admission through (SET-V). Eligibility

Candidate having following qualification are eligible to apply for PhD admission at SLIET Longowal.
  • Having Master's degree in Engineering/Technology/Science/Humanities/Management are eligible for PhD through SET-V test.

Application Procedure

Pattern and Syllabus of SET-V Examination

SET-V examination consists of one paper of 100 questions of 100 marks with the duration of two hours which will be divided into two parts. Part-A consists of 50 questions of 50 Marks from Research Methodology (RM) and Part-B consists of 50 question of 50 Marks from concerned department i.e. Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and others.
  1. Research Methodology (Common to All): Research Aptitude, Reasoning, Data interpretation, information technology, people and Environment, Numerical Ability, Numerical Analysis, Statistics, Communication Ability, Higher education system (Governance, Policy and administration).
  2. EIE: Electrical Technology and Networks, Electronics Principles, Power Electronics, Digital electronics and microprocessors, Transducers and Instrumentation, Control Theory, Programming concepts, and Power Systems.
  3. ECE: Electronics Devices and Circuits, Digital Systems, Signal Processing, Control Theory, Communication Systems, and Electromagnetic and Microwaves. Others: You may refer Official brochure.
